Custom formalities in Europe.

If you want to go to a dog show in a foreign country with your dog, it's very important to verify - before enter him - all the custom formalities asked by the country you'll visit. This formalities can be a simple vaccination shot or a quarantine.

However, don't hesitate to inquire with the consulate, with the embassy or with the tourist information office of the country where you want to go, because changes can be made at any time.

  1. the rabbies shot must be more than one month and less than one year if it's the first vaccination. The one month period is only apply if it's a booster.
  2. Often, during quarantine the expenses are supported by the owner.
  3. The international health certificate must be wrotten in several languages and be done by a veterinian only some days before the departure.

Take care, for Sweden, to travel with your dog, the owner must be registered as a dog importing to the Swedish Agriculture Direction. Needs to ask a documentation to the Swedish embassy.
