The USACTC, Inc. was established in 1994
by Leon and Helga Lopatin as the only American Coton de Tulear Breed
Club that supported the internationally recognized, F.C.I. standard
and one that supports the showing of Cotons in conformation shows.
Recognizing a need for this sort of organization in the United States,
they were truly the foundation of our club. Fortunately, before
the popularity of the breed exploded, the club was well seated and
firmly established as the Parent breed club for the Coton. We are
pleased to state that we are the only recognized Parent Breed Club
for the Coton de Tulear in the United States with both the American
Rare Breed Association and States Kennel Club. |

The club is currently in the process
of establishing a DNA registration service to further serve the
membership. The board believes that this service will further cement
the validity of our registry. The club has general elections every
2 years, with every member given opportunity to serve the club.
Each member has opportunity to see their dog "in the limelight",
featured either on our website or in the Courier. All photos are
displayed proudly of member’s dogs
